What is a payment gateway and why do I need one?
A payment gateway allows your website to take online card payments securely. In a flower shop you might use a counter terminal, mobile card reader or PDQ machine. A payment gateway performs the same role online by checking card details and passing funds directly into your bank account.
Choosing a payment gateway
Florist Window does not process payments or hold customer funds. Each florist connects their own payment gateway so customers pay the florist directly.
We guide you through choosing, setting up and connecting the right gateway for your business. For most florists, we recommend Stripe due to its reliability, international support and mobile-friendly checkout.
Payment gateways integrate directly with the Florist Window platform, including order management, delivery scheduling and subscriptions. View platform features.
PayPal (optional)
Florist Window websites can also accept payments via PayPal. We usually recommend PayPal as an additional option alongside card payments rather than as the sole payment method.
Some customers prefer PayPal, while others do not have a PayPal account. Offering both options can help maximise completed orders.
